Context Theme Migration

1. What's the upgrade?

If you know Wordnerds, you know we are always investing in the technology which powers our text analysis to be at the top of the game.

Our latest iteration of this is an upgrade to our context theme technology. In a nutshell, the new technology enables improved effectiveness of themes. What does this mean for you?

On average, the new technology sees up to 20% increases in theme health scores. Therefore, your themes perform better - capturing an even higher proportion of relevant examples and ensuring your theme is more precise.
The technology is better at categorising intangible concepts. You'll see a better ability to create themes that may have previously been difficult to train effectively (an example from the retail/logistics industry: creating distinct themes to categorise instances of damaged packaging, versus damaged products within the packaging. Pretty good, huh? 🤓)

2. Why manual migration?

By manually migrating your themes, you have better control over the process to ensure your themes are performing effectively and how you would expect them to.

We also recommend regenerating your sample batch and auditing your themes every 6-12 months - so this serves as a great prompt to get going with a review!

We’ll be sunsetting the old technology on 21st February 2025, at which point any old context themes that have not been manually migrated will be automatically migrated (applied historically).

Between now and 21st February 2025, we’ll be limiting functionality of old context themes:

- You won’t be able to train them
- You won’t be able to apply historically

3. How do I migrate themes?

It's simple! Head to the themes page on your Wordnerds platform then follow our 10 step demo below to manually migrate your themes (click in top right corner to expand)👇

4. What happens after migration?

There's a few things you can expect following migration...

More accurate themes - you should see a higher health score (but this might not always be the case!)
Because themes are more accurate, volumes will change. Depending how inaccurate your theme was previously, you could see dramatic changes.
Due to expected volume changes, any comparison over time could be flawed if you haven’t applied the theme historically (which is why we'd recommend applying historically).
There's no effect to existing reports using your theme - visualisations in My Reports or dashboards in BI tools you've integrated with Wordnerds will automatically update with the new theme results.
