What is Amazon Redshift?
Amazon Redshift is a fast, fully managed, cloud-native data warehouse that makes it simple to analyse all your data using standard SQL and your existing business intelligence (BI) tools. This could be Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio to analyse, visualise, report and share your Wordnerds-enriched data - or a CRM, such as Salesforce or HubSpot to connect enriched Wordnerds data to customer records (think: churn prediction 🤓).

Process for platform users who want to integrate Wordnerds with your BI tool and/or CRM
- Reach out to your technical team or, in larger teams perhaps you have a dedicated BI analyst/engineer. It's good to speak to them early and find out their availability to get the work booked in.
- Speak to your CSM and discuss what projects you would want to bring into Wordnerds. We can pull just one or multiple projects in.
- When you're ready to proceed, we'll share this Google Form to collect the info we need (mainly, we need an IP address to create secure access to Redshift for each user).
- A dev will set your project up, whitelist IP addresses and we'll contact you with the credentials your team will need to get access to Redshift.
- Your technical team will now be able to pull the data from Redshift into dashboard views (reporting tools) or into CRM tools. You should work with them to explain what views you would like to see and how your dashboard should look. Throughout the process, we're always happy to set up a call with our engineers to answer any questions you or your tech team has - we can also support with creating any specific views in Redshift that will help you create what you need.
Technical process for integrating Wordnerds with your BI tool and/or CRM
- We will duplicate your project data (enriched with all the Wordnerds metrics) into its own schema in redshift.
- Access is granted at schema level through IP address. We will need IP addresses of all Redshift users and will share credentials: host, user, database, port no. & one-time password link.
- Possible hurdles: shifting IP addresses may pose an issue. An alternative is to use Microsoft gateway which acts as proxy and offers a static IP address.
- Connect to Redshift and select as a data source to start building dashboards. You will then have access to all the tables/columns of data and our Knowledge Hub Redshift glossary & Entity Relationship Diagram will show you how to use these to pull the data you need.
